Auramist: Emotion regulation

Multisensory UX Design

AuraMist is a human-centered emotional wellness system designed to help young adults regulate their moods autonomously. Combining extensive qualitative and quantitative research—ranging from diary studies to empathy mapping—the project identified gaps in current mood-tracking technologies, which often lack actionable insights. AuraMist bridges this gap through a smart diffuser-device and companion app that respond to emotional states using scent, light, and mindful interventions. Users receive personalized support through tools like journaling prompts, activity-based suggestions, and “mindful cards” featuring affirmations, myth-busting facts, and mood-boosting visuals.

The physical product is a touch-sensitive, LED-lit aroma diffuser, designed with soft curves and frosted surfaces to create a calming presence. Complemented by a digital platform for mood tracking, scent selection, and emotional journaling, the system offers a seamless multisensory experience. With inputs from varied personas across demographics, AuraMist redefines mood regulation by integrating behavioral psychology, sensory therapy, and reflective design. It’s not just a wellness product—it’s an intuitive emotional support system tailored for everyday life.
